Tank Pull 2024

Posted on June 9, 2024 By Clifton FMBA 21

Our FMBA 21 Tank Pull team for 2024 made a strong showing today, demonstrating our commitment to supporting this annual event and our veterans. With pride, we unveiled our new tent, a valuable addition for our future community engagements. Heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined us, engaging in conversations and showing their support. The Tank Pull Challenge symbolizes resilience, pushing participants to defy the odds by moving an 80,000-pound tank on a flatbed truck. It’s a rallying cry to embrace the challenge and conquer the seemingly impossible. Participation in this competition not only honors our veterans, especially those wounded in combat, but also ensures their sacrifices are remembered and respected.

Thank You, Congressman Pascrell!

Posted on April 4, 2024April 4, 2024 By Clifton FMBA 21

Clifton FMBA 21 extends heartfelt appreciation to Congressman Pascrell for obtaining funding to aid in the construction of a new fire station and emergency operations center. Since 2003, Clifton has managed its emergency operations from a single vehicle. Today, alongside Clifton’s bravest, Pascrell has announced a significant $637K federal grant secured for the establishment of a state-of-the-art emergency operations center, ensuring the safety of our community.

PRESS RELEASE FROM CONGRESSMAN PASCRELLS WEBSITE:

Pascrell Celebrates Funding for New Clifton Emergency Operations Center

Congressman Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-09), the co-chairman of the Congressional Fire Services Caucus, today joined firefighters and local leaders in Clifton to celebrate his securing over $637,000 in fresh federal funding to help the city construct a new fire station and emergency operations center.

“As the longtime co-chairman of the Fire Services Caucus in Congress, I help lead my colleagues in support of our fire heroes,” said Congressman Pascrell. “Today, Clifton’s emergency operations capabilities are badly outdated. The city has been relying on an emergency vehicle from 2003. That’s back when the Devils won their last Stanley Cup. The new modern center that will be built through this federal money will centralize all planning, technology, and logistics in a single place. It will protect our neighbors and bolster Clifton’s growth. Federal community investments may sound bland, but it is one of my favorite topics because it is an essential and direct way to improve lives. We see that here again today.”

This funding will be used by Clifton to acquire property to construct a new firehouse with an Emergency Operations Center. Currently, the city’s center at City Hall does not meet FEMA guidelines and is not functional so it must be replaced. The current emergency “center” operates primarily out of a vehicle dating back to 2003. When the new fire station and center are completed, they will centralize all emergency planning, technology, and logistics in a single location.

In this year’s government funding process, Congressman Pascrell has secured $17,624,644 for 17 separate community projects throughout New Jersey’s Ninth District. This package included the $637,195 for Clifton.

Tank Pull 2023 Photos

Posted on June 11, 2023June 11, 2023 By Clifton FMBA 21

Thank you to all residents that stopped by our tent today; it was a pleasure meeting your families. Special thanks to our members who came to pull the tank today! We had a showing of over 30 members which made the 2023 Tank Pull a HUGE success for the Knights of Columbus. Today, we also remember our own fallen FMBA 21 Brother Daniel Meeks who passed away at a young age to health problems. He had a short time on this earth serving the USMC and Clifton Fire Department, but his character and service will not be forgotten. Thank you again for all your continued support.
