Knights of Columbus Tank Pull 2025

Posted on June 8, 2025 By Clifton FMBA 21

Clifton FMBA 21 Takes 2nd Place at 2025 Army Tank Pull Challenge

On Sunday, June 8, 2025, Clifton FMBA Local 21 brought strength, spirit, and solidarity to the 15th Annual Army Tank Pull Challenge, hosted by the New Jersey Knights of Columbus and Catholic Charities.

With a full 20-member team, we powered through the competition and pulled strong with an outstanding time of 6.38 seconds! At the time of this post, we were ranked in Second Place overall. We also want to spotlight John Bednarz and Cody Bleaken, who impressed everyone by pulling the 80,000 lb tank in 24.97 seconds during the lowest weight category, with a combined weight of only 447 lbs. Incredible effort by both!

Beyond the competition, it was a day filled with great memories, strong bonds, and support for a cause that matters. We were proud to stand side by side with our brothers from Clifton PBA 36 at our tent, enjoying the camaraderie, cornhole games, and good vibes. Huge thanks to Chief Rowan and Deputy Chief Legates for their hands-on support that helped push us toward victory.

This event wasn’t just about muscle—it was about community, charity, and unity, and we were honored to assist in raising funds for such a meaningful cause. To everyone who showed up early, brought the family, helped rally the team, or just stopped by to cheer us on—you helped make the day special. And a final thank-you to the Knights of Columbus for organizing another phenomenal event.

Clifton FMBA 21 – Fire Safety Day 2024

Posted on September 25, 2024October 15, 2024 By Clifton FMBA 21

Clifton FMBA 21 Teams Up with Red Cross and Rebuilding Together North Jersey for Fire Safety Day: Volunteers Needed!

Clifton FMBA 21 is proud to partner with Rebuilding Together North Jersey and the American Red Cross for a Fire Safety Day event on Saturday, October 5, 2024. We’ll be joining over 50 volunteers in an effort to increase fire safety by installing smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in homes located in the Botany Village section of Clifton. Together, we’ll be installing 600 smoke detectors (donated by the Red Cross) equipped with 10-year lithium batteries, as well as carbon monoxide detectors. In addition to installations, we’ll leave educational materials with each homeowner, helping to raise awareness about fire safety.

Date: Saturday, October 5, 2024

Time: Volunteers arrive between 8:00 and 8:30 AM for a light breakfast, followed by a brief training session, a group photo by the fire truck, and team assignments.

Where: Homes on Exchange, James, Lincoln Place, Harrison Place, Arthur, and Cutler Streets.

Support and Partnerships

The American Red Cross is providing tools, equipment, and staff to support our efforts. Columbia Bank and PSE&G have graciously provided funding to make this event possible.

We’ll be working in teams of four, and we’re especially looking for Spanish-speaking volunteers to join each group, as many of the homeowners in the neighborhood may feel more comfortable speaking Spanish. Importantly, our focus will be on installing life-saving detectors and raising awareness of fire safety and carbon monoxide incidents.

How Can You Get Involved?

We’re asking for our Clifton FMBA 21 members to step up and join the volunteer efforts. Your experience and commitment to safety are critical to making this day a success. Use the sign-up sheet below to confirm your participation.

Stay safe,

Clifton FMBA 21

The First Annual Clifton Firefighter’s Foundation Golf Outing was a massive success! It was a day filled with fun, laughter, and camaraderie as members of our department, retirees, and neighboring fire/police departments came together.

This premier event not only delivered a day of spirited competition, fun, and mingling but also supported a noble cause. All proceeds will benefit the Foundation’s mission as a 501c3 Non-Profit, which passionately supports various charitable organizations throughout the City of Clifton.

Attendees enjoyed perfect weather, challenging holes, and the chance to catch up with old friends while meeting new ones. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all our generous sponsors who made this day possible. Be sure to scroll through the event photos and relive the memorable moments from this incredible day!

Special thank you to all of our sponsors and volunteers!

Our FMBA 21 Tank Pull team for 2024 made a strong showing today, demonstrating our commitment to supporting this annual event and our veterans. With pride, we unveiled our new tent, a valuable addition for our future community engagements. Heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined us, engaging in conversations and showing their support. The Tank Pull Challenge symbolizes resilience, pushing participants to defy the odds by moving an 80,000-pound tank on a flatbed truck. It’s a rallying cry to embrace the challenge and conquer the seemingly impossible. Clifton Fire Display- Allwood Library

Posted on October 11, 2023November 25, 2023 By Clifton FMBA 21

October is Fire Prevention Month. Our very own Clifton FMBA 21 member and Clifton Fire Department Historian Charles Stauhs set up a showcase at the Allwood Branch Library. Please stop in to check out a collection of Clifton Fire Department memorabilia and historic photographs. Also available for lending is several copies of our 100th Anniversary Book donated by author and former Department Chief Kevin McCarthy. Fire Prevention Month is an important time to raise awareness about fire safety. This display is excellent way to honor the history of the department and educate people about fire safety.
