Today, Clifton FMBA 21 and Clifton PBA 36 joined forces with Kim Castellano of Power of One Ministries to prepare a delicious meal for the senior citizens at Evergreen Manor, situated at 50 Sade Street. The event was a resounding success, with all seniors thoroughly enjoying both the food and the camaraderie of Clifton’s dedicated police officers and firefighters.
Power of One is a 501(c)(3) public charity with a mission to support seniors, veterans, the disabled, and families with children. Our team is dedicated to combating poverty through initiatives such as Personal Development programs, Wellness Workshops, and the provision of valuable resources aimed at empowering families and individuals toward self-sufficiency. Clifton FMBA 21 will participate in the 2023 Tank Pull sponsored by the St Philip Knights of Columbus. The event will occur this Sunday, June 11, 2023, at 8 am at 1100 Clifton Avenue. Members of Clifton FMBA 21 will take part in pulling an 80,000-pound tank to commemorate those who have been wounded in combat and will ensure their service will not be forgotten. This year, members of FMBA 21 will be wearing tee shirts with the name of our fallen Brother Daniel Meeks who passed away at a young age to health problems. Daniel Meeks was a Clifton Firefighter and Marine Veteran who passed away at 31 years of age due to a brain tumor. He had a short time with the Clifton Fire Department but his character and service to the USMC will not be forgotten. Please come by and support our team in this fantastic fundraising event!
ATTENTION CLIFTON FMBA 21 TANK PULL TEAM MEMBERS:
Please arrive at 0830 behind Police HQ. Our pull time is 0924am and Clifton PBA 36 will be shuttling us over to the event in their honor guard van. If you have not signed up and would like to join in, just show up to the event! Hope to see you all there!

FMBA 21 members,
We are planning to take part and enter a FMBA team into the 2023 Tank Pull. We are looking for a 20 member team on June 11th to pull a tank. We have done it in the past with great success and in memory of Clifton Firefighter and Marine Veteran Dan Meeks. Dan Meeks passed away at 31 years of age due to a brain tumor. Let your shift VPs know as soon as possible if you can attend. Active and retirees welcome. PBA 36 will have a team as well. If anyone is interested in being the team captain, contact President Daniel Schwaner.
Please see this official statement from Nick Hriczov Clifton PBA 36 President who represents the Clifton Police Department. Please help our Brother in Blue from Clifton Police PBA 36.
Friends and Family,
Unfortunately one of our own, Patrolman Mike Howe, has suffered a stroke while vacationing in Aruba this past week. The only way for him to return to the US was by medivac since he has no use of his left side. The cost for this service is $38,000. We are asking friends and family to help by donating whatever you can afford to help ease the burden of such a high cost.
Patrolman Howe has been a member of the Clifton Police Department since 2003. He is also an Army veteran who has fought for this country in a number of Iraqi wars including Desert Storm.
If you would like to donate please visit the gofundme.com page below. (https://www.gofundme.com/2ks5r7w)
Every donation will be greatly appreciated. I thank you all in advance for considering helping out this family in a time of need.
Sincerely,
Nicholas Hriczov
PBA Local 36, President

Michael Howe, a.k.a. Mighty, went on vacation to Aruba with his wife Nancy last week. Unfortunately, Mighty suffered a stroke. He is now in the hospital in Aruba. The left side of his body is paralyzed. While we would think that the doctors in Aruba are doing everything they can to help Mighty, his pressure has not gone down much over the past week. The doctors will not release him, and he is unable to fly home. We are looking to raise money to have him medivaced home, back to America ASAP. The cost to have him medivaced is $38,000. We believe that once Mighty is back here in the states, he will get the proper care.
Mighty is a decorated officer with the Clifton Police Force. He is also a veteran who fought in a number of Iraqi wars, including Desert Storm.
Your donations will be GREATLY appreciated.
******UPDATE******
Due to the severity of Mighty’s condition, it was best to bring him home sooner rather than later. Several credit cards were used to cover the $38,000 medivac fee.
In addition to the high interest rate on these credit cards, an international transfer fee was also assessed.
Medical costs continue to mount, and health insurance does not cover medi-vac services.
Your continued support will truly be a blessing to the family.
